Studio Dojo’s Transdisciplinary Approach for A Complex World

About this event

As part of the Singapore Design Week 2025 programme line-up, learn how Studio Dojo tackles three complex projects, as their clients share project stories that weave design thinking, futures thinking, organisation development and leadership development. Following that, experience the Warm Data Lab – a unique conversation method for experiencing and perceiving complexity. The session ends off with a celebratory 6th Anniversary lunch!

Projects shared include:

  • Reinventing an education institution with a long tradition by integrating futures thinking, design thinking and organisation development to engage, challenge and support change from both an outside-in and inside-out approach.
  • Investing in the leadership capabilities of a local enterprise through designing and running a nine-month-long vertical development programme.
  • Leading eight consortium partners to create an Integrated Youth Mental Wellness Centre in the middle of Orchard Road, blending spatial, digital, service and brand elements together.

Illustrating the “Design Futures” and “Design Impact” pillars of Singapore Design Week, Studio Dojo invites their client partners to share examples of their future-ready design practice that integrates other disciplines to create unique and impactful solutions that last.

About the Lead Facilitator

Hong Khai Seng

FOUNDER & DIRECTOR, STUDIO DOJO

Khai Seng has been in the design field since 2004. He was formerly the Head of Singapore for Foolproof, a UK-based experience design agency. Khai Seng thinks that delivering great design for a client is only part of the equation – it is also key to help clients bring sustained impact and cultural change in the way they work.

He did pedagogical research at Singapore’s National Institute of Education. He also helped developed the curriculum and taught anthropological studies, interaction design, experience design and design thinking in Republic Polytechnic. In addition, he spent time growing the UX community in Singapore through organising the UXSG conferences. Khai Seng is currently serving as the Vice-President of the Design Business Chamber Singapore and Singapore Polytechnic’s Media, Art and Design School’s Advisory Committee. He was also a member of the Design Education Advisory Committee.

Throughout his career, Khai Seng has facilitated many workshops and training programmes with C-suite executives and working professionals to drive cultural change within organisations around design and innovation. Khai Seng is also certified as an Integral coach by New Ventures West – that involves helping design leaders to create and maintain habits of excellence that are self-generating and self-correcting.

He was conferred the SkillsFuture Fellowship in 2019 by the President of the Republic of Singapore.
